As any modern day hospital does, The Tri-State Memorial Hospital receives a lot of deliveries daily, and Jessica, who heads the Materials Management Supervisor’s Team is tasked with managing the deliveries and making user they get to their destination within the hospital.

While the Tri-State Memorial Hospital has a complex stores management system, a small percentage of the items received daily, around 100 parcels monthly, were not logged through this system. As a matter of fact, they were not logged at all. This occasionally caused some items to get lost, or misplaced, and general confusion as to their where abouts.

Parcel Tracker was introduced to close these gaps in inventory and parcel management.

Closing the gaps

Without Parcel Tracker it was often difficult to understand who the deliveries were for and who to notify of their arrival. With Parcel Tracker, Jessica’s team could search a dynamic list of all staff and their associated departments, notify them of their parcel receipt and deliver it.

Once a parcel was received at their receipts and deliveries area, it was logged on Parcel Tracker and stored on some shelfs until later that day, when the parcels were delivered to their respective departments. The parcel was then dropped off at their recipient department and a photo was taken for proof of drop-off. Parcel Tracker would then automatically send a confirmation with the attached photo to the recipient notifying them their parcel was dropped off.

The Tri-State Memorial Hospital found the detailed digital record of deliveries and collections extremely helpful for tracking down packages. Every time a parcel is handled through the system  it is time stamped, the member of staff handling it is recorded, these all help when it comes to tracking down that evasive and misplaced package.
