Ekart Logistics
Ekart is the logistics and supply chain arm of Flipkart, India's largest e-commerce company. Originally launched in 2009 to handle Flipkart’s internal deliveries, Ekart has grown into the country’s largest logistics company, managing over 10 million shipments monthly.
Thanks to its consistent excellence in consumer experience, reliable delivery, and ability to manage scale and variability, Ekart has become a preferred logistics partner for a wide range of organizations. Innovations like Cash on Delivery, Same-Day Guarantee in 13 cities, and In-a-Day Guarantee in 50 cities have powered Flipkart’s growth and are now being offered to brands, sellers, platforms, and consumers outside the Flipkart Group.
More than 90% of Flipkart orders are delivered through Ekart. For areas where Ekart doesn't operate, deliveries are handled by third-party partners such as Ecom Express and Delhivery.
Seller-filled orders are picked up by Ekart personnel from the seller’s location and transported in a local van (mini tempo) to the nearest office. From there, parcels are sent to a sorting hub where shipments from surrounding cities are collected and sorted before being routed for delivery via road, rail, or air across India.
After arriving at the delivery (sorting) hub, the parcel is sent to the local area office and then delivered to the customer. Flipkart Advantage orders follow the same process, except they are collected directly from Flipkart’s own warehouses.
Flipkart, now valued at over $30 billion, began as an online bookstore and rapidly expanded across product categories. Ekart’s logistics network has played a crucial role in enabling that growth, ensuring reliable last-mile delivery and a strong customer experience.
Receiving Ekart parcels at scale? Many offices and buildings use mailroom management software to log and hand off deliveries internally.
